Cemeteries with Polish tombstones.

The cemetery in Waręż was probably established in the second quarter of the 19th century. Inscriptions in Polish appear near the entrance, in a neglected and overgrown part of the cemetery.

Due to the turbulent history of the 1940s and 1950s, conflicts, resettlements and border changes, most of the inhabitants of the border villages were forced to leave for distant places (among them Warmia and Masuria and Lower Silesia). They left behind many monuments of material culture, including the Polish and Ukrainian cemeteries in Waręż, Łubów and St. Mark's Church in Warż. Individual gravestones or sometimes entire cemeteries are neglected. The people who settled in the area after the 1951 border change did not identify with their heritage. Due to the lack of care, the monuments of material culture have fallen into disrepair over time.

2022
The task was a continuation of activities started in previous years involving the cleaning up of Polish cemeteries in Waręż and Łubów (Ukraine) and further cleaning up the surroundings of St Mark's Church in Waręż.On 17-19.06.2022 the Association for the Development of the Village of Rodnowo and the Surrounding Area "Chance and Development" together with volunteers from the Animator Tailoring Workshop and the Branch Board of the NSZZ FSG at the Nadwiślańskie Oddzial Strazy Granicznej took part in the first trip to Waręż, during which the project "Together for the Ancestors 2022 - Waręż-Łubów (Ukraine)" was officially launched.

Together with the residents of Warezh, who had already started cleaning up local cemeteries, two cemeteries in Warezh were cleaned. Both Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic residents of Warža are buried here.

2023
In 2021-2022, together with the friendly "Chance and Development" Association for the development of the village of Rodnowo, volunteers from Poland and Ukraine cleaned up the Polish cemeteries in Waręż and Łubów. In 2023, these activities were continued by the SCIRE Foundation. In addition, minor repairs to tombstones were carried out under the direction of a conservationist.

During the clean-up work in 2023, the area of the cemeteries was sprayed and completely cleared of overgrowth and stumps left over from last year's work. This helped in the search for tombstones that are still underground. In addition, the area around St. Mark's Church in Warsaw was secured.
