Biography:

Born around 1689 in Moravia, he studied in the Prague workshop of M.V. Halbax in Prague and in Rome. He worked mainly in Moravia and Opava Silesia (e.g. in Welehrad, Brno and Opava), as well as in Cracow, where his most famous work was created in 1727 and later in 1733 - a polychrome in the Cracow church of the Piarist Order of the Transfiguration of Our Lord. He was probably brought to Poland by Father Wojciech Staniewski. He was one of the first in Poland to use quatrefoil painting in his polychromies in the Pozzowski version. His last work was a polychromy in the Jesuit Church of Sts Peter and Paul in Lviv.
