Souvenirs of the City of Zhovkva is a reprint of a book published in 1852 by Fr. Sadok Baracz.

Souvenirs of the City of Zhovkva is a reprint of a book published in 1852 by Father Sadok Baracz, who was a Dominican friar, the first historian and researcher of the past of Polish Armenians, the history of the Dominican Order and many borderland towns. Among them it is worth mentioning: Brody, Stanislawów, Jazłowiec, Buczacz, Załoźce and Żółkiew. His texts were written on the basis of archival documents to which he had access. Today, his works have a source character, as many of the materials he used have disappeared or are scattered and difficult to access.

When visiting today's Zhovkva, it is worth being aware of the old life, flowing with its own intensity, in which important events were both the theft of geese by the goldsmith's wife and visits of the highest royal or imperial Habsburg dignitaries.

Prepared by the POLONIKA Institute, the publication includes a translation of the Polish original into Ukrainian, which is enriched with footnotes and additional iconography. The book is aimed especially at an audience speaking Ukrainian.
