According to the file of Lucjan Uziębła (card no. 155/15), the grave was originally marked by an oak cross with an aircraft propeller in a metal fence. Hence the dating can be slightly shifted. The memorial had been neglected for many years, and was later looked after on an ongoing basis by the late Jerzy Surwiło, who looked after the soldiers' graves. The fence of the tombstone was partially damaged by a broken tree. According to the Made in Vilnius portal : According to the historian Karolis Kučiauskas, in 1936, on 8 June, the Polish pilot Wlodzimierz Paprzycki and the Vilnius cadet Czeslaw Kiernowicz took off from Kirtim airfield (then called Porubanek) in a French Potez XV plane. The latter was assigned to pilot the aircraft. At fifteen-four in the afternoon, the residents of Vilnius, who were near the present-day A. Jakšto Street, heard a terrible sound - after an engine failure, the plane fell and hit the roof of the 9th building. The plane broke into pieces, pierced the roof and several floors of the building - the propeller then appeared in the teachers' room of the primary school. Only part of the plane's wing and two wheels were hanging over the street. A large piece of the fuselage was rolling down the middle of the street. According to witnesses interviewed at the scene, the pilots flew outside the barracks of the XNUMX Brigade (now the Northern City) and then headed towards the city. But here the plane's engine suddenly started to stall and shut down.
