Tombstone of Jan Kurczewski

Burial place marked by cross on two-stepped plinth and two-stepped base. Cross on moulded plinth. At the intersection of the arms traces of the attachment of a Christ figure, with a secondarily placed wooden figure. Second step of base with chamfered upper edges. The first step of the pedestal with chamfered upper edges. On the front a panel with a relief inscription (2). On the left side, in the lower right corner, an engraved signature. The second step of the pedestal with profiled side upper edges. On the front side, a panel closed with a gabled arch, in which the following are relief carved: a book, a stole, a chalice with the host, below a relief inscription (1). A flowerbed in front of the tombstone. The whole is enclosed by a fence consisting of cylindrical pedestals connected by a cast-iron chain. The field inside the fence is paved with granite blocks.

Inscription No 2 in Polish: May he rest in peace! //. According to the file of Wacław Wejtka of "Kłosy": Kurczewski was a historian of the Church in Lithuania, the first president and co-founder of the Society of the Friends of Science in Vilnius. He died suddenly in the pulpit during a sermon. The tombstone funded by public contributions under. "Dziennik Wileński" No. 171, 27 August 1916, p. 3. A wooden figure of Christ was placed at the intersection of the arms.
