Tomb of the civilian defender of Grodno in September 1939. - Tadeusz Jasiński at the parish cemetery

Right next to the military quarters from the 1920 Polish-Bolshevik battles is the grave of Tadeusz Jasiński - a young defender of Grodno in September 1939, who died as a "living shield", tied to a Soviet tank.On the light grey vertical gravestone is engraved the inscription: "The late Tadeusz Jasinski, a 13-year-old defender of Grodno, died on 20 September 1939 during the Soviet invasion. >Lord, accept this child sacrifice from the hands of the executioner, not so pure and holy but equally innocent<. A. Mickiewicz". Below, on the base of the tombstone, the inscription: "Sleep, little son in a dark grave, may Poland dream of you". This grave is in very good condition. The heroic boy was also commemorated elsewhere in the parish cemetery - a plaque in his honour was placed on the facade of the cemetery chapel. The inscription on it reads: "Tadek Jasinski / died in the defence of Grodno in September 1939 / aged 13".
