Portrait of Maria Kazimiera Sobieska in Milan

Maria Kazimiera Sobieska left the Republic in 1699, three years after the death of her husband, John III Sobieski. She went to Rome and then to France. To this day, there are many mementos of the Sobieski family in Italy. One of them is a portrait of Maria Kazimiera in the collection of the Castello Sforzesco museum in Milan.
Castello Sforzesco belonged to the family estate of Queen Bona Sforza, wife of King Sigismund I the Old.
