More than 20,000 people gathered at Hambach Castle on 27 May 1832. The demonstration (Hambacher Fest) proclaimed slogans of reunification and a free Germany and solidarity with Polish emigrants after the November Uprising. Four plaques commemorate the events of 27 May 1832, two of which are related to Poland.
