Trakai Castle

The castle was built in the 14th-15th centuries by Lithuanian Grand Duke Kiejstut and his son Vytautas. After Kiejstut's death, it was the centre of the struggle between Jogaila and Vytautas for power. Ruined during the wars with Moscow, it was reconstructed in the 19th century.
