Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bereźne

According to a publication by Zbigniew Hauser, the cemetery in Bereźne was located next to the parish church and was probably established in 1765, when the church in Bereźne became a parish church. The cemetery was liquidated after the church was blown up in 1958. In time, the Culture and Recreation Park was established on its site. The website of the Society of Borderland Culture Enthusiasts states that the cemetery was located by the pond https://www.kresowianie.info/artykuly,n379,czerwiec_nad_slucza_czyli_o_otwarciu_lapidarium_w_bereznem.html and quotes "The fact that there was a large cemetery here is evidenced by clear, characteristic necropolis alleys between the trees and a fragment of a brick fence" https://www.kresowianie.info/artykuly,n298,berezne_kresowianinie_pomoz_postawic_lapidarium.html . Only a few nameless broken stone monuments have survived to the present day, of which only one, the gravestone of Juliana Grochowska, has fragments of an inscription. It indicates that this is a gravestone from the second decade of the 20th century. It is known from local residents that there was a very tall cast iron cross in the cemetery.

In 2013, a Memorial - Lapidarium was erected at the site of the destroyed Roman Catholic cemetery https://biblioteka.teatrnn.pl/dlibra/publication/92315/edition/86998 .
