In the cemetery next to the church is the grave of Wincenty Czarnecki. He was a member of the Vilnius Self-Defence and was murdered on 20.05.1919 by the Soviets. It is a magnificent tombstone with a photograph of the deceased and the inscription: "Here rests / Wincenty Czarnecki / murdered by robbers on 20 May 1919 aged 22. / Sleep in the depths of the earth, my young son, no one will wake you here; / You who did not experience the happiness of freedom, sleep here far from people / On your grave they strewed thicket right after your funeral / A bird chirping merrily your grave, though you are gone / Your father and mother only orphan hearts eternally covered in mourning / They spend long days, sleepless nights longing and weeping for you / This memento is dedicated by your parents and brother".
