Let's go to America! Clippings from the history of the American Polish community

The exhibition "Let's go to America! Clippings from the History of the Polish American Community" by means of Norbert Piwowarczyk's photographs, presents not only beautiful Polish temples (the so-called Polish cathedrals), but also contemporary traces of Polishness, which can be encountered while travelling in the USA.

The photographs show the enormous cultural diversity of the American Polish community, which strives to preserve elements of Polish tradition and culture abroad. It is this cultural heritage, which shapes the identity not only of the Polish American community, but also of the contemporary inhabitants of our country, that the exhibition will show for the first time on the streets of Warsaw.

The photographs presented at the exhibition are the aftermath of documentary work carried out since 2017 as part of the project 'Polish Parishes and Churches in the USA', financed thanks to funds from the Programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage 'Protection of Cultural Heritage Abroad'. Since 2018, the POLONIKA Institute has joined the project, which, among other things, financially supports the publication.
