He took part in the First Silesian Uprising (1919). A member of the PPS from 1923. From 1927 to 1937, secretary of the Main Board of the Trade Union of Employees of Health Insurance Funds and Public Utility Institutions, from 1932 a member of the Central Commission of Trade Unions. He was a member of the Polish Socialist Party (PPS). During WWII (from 1943), Chairman of the Social Anti-Communist Committee, Director of the Labour and Social Welfare Department of the Government Delegation at Home (from 1944). After the war, he co-founded the PPS in Paris. Between 1948 and 1954, a member of the Political Council of the PPS. Co-founder of the International Centre for Free Trade Unionists in Exile.
