The historic wooden Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord was built in 1787 with funds from the Lviv Dominican convent, to which the village belonged at the time. The church has a valuable iconostasis, made in the second half of the 17th century, probably in Zhovkva or Lviv, and completed still in the 18th century.

Due to the outbreak of war in Ukraine, renovation and conservation work on the church, which had been going on for several years, had to be halted. Funds allocated by the Lviv region for this purpose were redirected to the needs of the Ukrainian army. However, it was necessary to complete the work of replacing the damaged roofing, as the church was in danger of being flooded and the interior destroyed.

Therefore, responding to a request from the Lviv Regional Administration, the POLONIKA Institute donated the funds needed to purchase and deliver to the site 140 m2 of copper sheeting needed for the roofing. The sheet metal will be used during the construction and conservation work, which will make it possible to complete the work on the temple.
