Biography:

Andrzej Cichowski (1894-1974), born in Krzesławice. A participant in the Polish-Bolshevik War in the rank of lieutenant in the 20th Infantry Regiment of the Karkow Land. In 1921, at the Jagiellonian University, he received a doctorate in law. After graduating, he served in the Polish Army with the rank of captain. From 1922, he served as commander of the 13th Battalion of the 20th Infantry Regiment in Kraków, and was promoted to major in 1924. From 1923, he worked at the Experimental Training Centre in Rembertów. In the years 1926-1929, he was a member of the Border Protection Corps. In the years 1930-1934, he was district starost in Nowy Tomyśl, and then in the years 1935-1939 district starost in Starogard Gdański. After the outbreak of World War II, he joined the Anders Army, where he commanded the 24th Infantry Regiment. After the war, he remained in exile in London, where he developed his political activities. From 1955, he was a member of the National Treasury. He was a member of the second and third Councils of the Republic. In 1965, he served as Minister of the Treasury in the Polish Government in Exile.
