Biography:

Janusz Jędrzejewicz (1885-1951), born in Spiczyńce into an intelligentsia family. He received his primary education in Kiev and Odessa. During his education, he was involved in pro-independence activities, belonging to patriotic circles. He later studied mathematics and philosophy at Warsaw University, at which time he joined the PPS. He then enrolled at the University of Kraków in 1905. In 1907, he married Maria Stattlerówna. When World War I broke out, he joined the Polish Military Organisation. In 1927, he ran for the Sejm from the list of the Non-Partisan Bloc for Cooperation with the Government. In 1933, he became prime minister. He was later a senator. In 1939 he went to Romania, then in 1940 to Palestine, where he worked as a mathematics teacher in Tel Aviv from 1941. In 1947 he moved to London, where he died in 1951.
