Adam Witold Maria Ciołkosz, pseud. Kremerowski (1901-1978), born in Kraków, died in London, son of Kacper and Maria née Idzikowska, Polish scouting instructor, lieutenant of infantry in the Polish Army, columnist, leader of the Polish Socialist Party at home and in exile, MP for the 2nd and 3rd Sejm terms in the 2nd Republic of Poland, member of the Committee for Home Affairs from 28th January 1941. Studied at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University and the School of Political Science in Kraków. Founder of several scout groups. He became a second lieutenant in 1919 and a lieutenant in 1934. He took part in the Polish-Soviet War and the Third Silesian Uprising. He was sentenced in the Brest trial in 1932 (released in the autumn of 1934). In 1939, he made his way to Romania, then to Paris and London. He was active on behalf of the Polish Government in Exile. Author of numerous historical and journalistic publications.
