Biography:

Bronisław Kuśnierz (1883-1966), graduated in law from the Jagiellonian University and the University of Vienna. At the former he obtained a doctoral degree. He took part in the First World War, being an officer of an infantry regiment in Tarnów. After regaining independence, he became involved in political life. He was associated with Catholic groups. In 1937, he joined the Labour Party. In 1939, he was mobilised. When the USSR invaded Poland, he went to Romania, where he was interned. He then found himself successively in Palestine and Egypt, where he served in the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade. He then moved to the United Kingdom in 1942. In 1944 he became Minister of Justice for the government in exile.
