Biography:

Stanisław Jóźwiak (1892-1964), born in Poznań, died in London, Polish political activist with a national orientation, MP for the Sejm of the 5th term during the Second Republic and for the First and Second National Councils of the Republic of Poland (1939-1945). During World War I, he served in the German Army. From July 1918, he was a member of POW. He took part in the Greater Poland Uprising. He was the owner of the Poznań-based "Tekstyl" company (from 1922), and was active in the Association of Christian Merchants, the Association for the Defence of Polish Industry and the Association for the Promotion of Polish Property. Between 1938 and 1939, he was a member of the 5th Sejm from the Obóz Zjednoczenia Narodowego list. He took part in the September campaign, then spent time in Hungary, France and, from 1940, Great Britain.
