Grave of Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp prisoners

At the beginning of August 1945, some 300 seriously ill former Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp prisoners were sent to Katsdorf, of whom 46 had died by the end of the year. Among the dead were 13 Poles of Catholic faith and at least 10 Jews from Poland, as well as representatives of 7 other nationalities. The dead were buried in the so-called new cemetery by the wall. The graves are arranged in 2 rows with small monuments on them. Those buried are commemorated by name on small plaques.
