In the cemetery there is a large section of Polish soldiers killed in the Polish-Ukrainian battles of 1919. It is situated opposite the quarters of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the same period.

Over 160 Polish soldiers are buried here. At the top of the quarters, just off the cemetery avenue, a monument with the inscription was placed on a mass grave: "20 V 1919 - 20 V 1923 / D.O.M. / To the mortal remains of the brothers of Greater Poland / fallen in the battles for the liberation of Stryj / on the fifth anniversary of their death. / This grave is erected by grateful countrymen / Mikołajczyk Jan / Andrzejczak Wawrzyniec / Łakomy N. / Rudkowski Michał / Lala Franciszek / Dulęba Wojciech".

The building survived the Second World War and the communist period, but the passage of time and deliberate devastation meant that renovation work had to be undertaken.

The general renovation of the quarters was carried out in 2022 by the Freedom and Democracy Foundation as part of a task co-financed by the programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage 'Places of National Remembrance Abroad', with renovations of the main monument planned for 2023.
