Biography:

August Zamoyski was born on 28 June 1893 in Jablon, the son of Tomasz and Ludmila Zamoyski. From an early age, he received education in art, particularly sculpting, and also studied abroad such subjects as economics, philosophy and drawing. He belonged to the expressionist group "Bunt", and later co-founded the group of "Polish Expressionists". He travelled the world, visited New York, among other places, lived in France and between 1940 and 1955 in Brazil. In Poland, he kept a studio in Zakopane, which he visited. He died on 19 May 1970 in Saint-Clar-de-Rivière, France.
