Koropiec | Ukraine
ukr. Koropecʹ (Коропець)
The cemetery, established on the plan of an irregular polygon on a high hill, is located 50 m north-west of the church. The necropolis was probably created before 1787, when the Mysłowski burial chapel was erected. The first gravestones with Polish inscriptions date from Numerous destructs and graves were found in the burial area. During inventory work, 28 Polish tombstones, made in local workshops, were recorded. There is a wooden Greek Catholic chapel in the cemetery. According to Mieczysław Orłowicz, there was a monument in the cemetery, erected by the Ukrainian National Committee, commemorating Marek Kahaniec, a peasant killed in 1908 by gendarmes during an election struggle. In the cemetery there is a grave of Sich Sharpshooters killed in 1914-1919, the mound was restored in 1991.
