Poluchno was a Ukrainian-Polish village with at least 20 Polish families. Next to it was a colony with at least 12 households.

On 12.07.1943 armed UPA militia attacked Poles in the village and colony. The Poles rushed to escape, but were caught by the UPA and mostly murdered. At least 40 people were killed from the colony and at least 49 from the village. Polish homesteads were looted and burned.

On 14.07.1996, in the place where the Poles were murdered, a tall metal cross was erected on a small mound. The commemoration was initiated and funded by the Association for the Commemoration of Poles Murdered in Volhynia. The inscription reads: "To the 49 Poles / residents of Poluchno / who died in 1943 / in eternal memory / Compatriots".

In 2008 and 2011, members of the Association carried out repair and renovation work on this commemoration.
