In Rome, he continued his studies at the Academy of St. Luke in Rome from 1852 to 1860 and ran a successful studio, exhibited and won prizes. At that time he visited Vienna and Warsaw, and stayed briefly in Paris (he exhibited his work at the Paris Salon in 1855). In Warsaw, where he settled in 1860, he ran a studio at the Hotel Europejski and exhibited many times at the Warsaw Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts (from 1862). Periodically, he travelled to Krakow, among other places, carrying out commissions and exhibiting his works at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (including in 1871-72).
