Cenotaph of the entrails of King Stanislaw Leszczynski

The cenotaph of the entrails of King Stanislas Leszczynski, made before 1770, is located in the Church of Saint-Jacques, in the left nave, near the entrance. The sculpture is in the shape of an urn placed on a plinth. It is approximately 160 cm high. It was made of marble. Beneath the urn is a plaque with an inscription commemorating the King of Poland, ruler of Lorraine and Bar, who died in Luneville on 23 February 1766. In addition, it informs us that the king's entrails, known as the benefactor, were embedded in the sculpture. The inscription is engraved and filled with scarlet paint.
