Biography:

Sébastien Louis Guillaume Norblin, pseudonym Sobeck (b. 1796 - 1884), French painter and draughtsman born in Warsaw. In 1804, he settled with his family in France. In 1825, he was awarded the "Grand Prix de Rome", thanks to which he went to study in Rome, where he remained until 1832. After his return, he taught at the École des Beaux-Arts, participated in the Parisian Salon between 1827 and 1876, and was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1859. He maintained contacts with Polish émigrés in France, and painted, among other things, Signs of the Zodiac at the Hotel Lambert.
