Biography:

Jerzy Swieciński (1878-1958), born in Radowce. In 1902, he left for Paris. There he studied medicine, specialising in surgery. He took up a job in the profession, but at first he was concerned with preparing anatomical models. This gave birth to his fascination with sculpture. He took part in the Great War as an auxiliary surgeon. After it ended, he settled in the Basque Country. He was a self-taught sculptor. He had several exhibitions and also completed several private and public commissions. However, he did not achieve financial stability and died in poverty. His works are in the Guéthary museum, among others, and one of the streets in this town is named: 'Rue du Comte de Swiecinski', commemorating his person.
