Edward Koniuszy was born on 17 September 1919 in Polichthy. He studied under Antoni Kenar at the School of Art Techniques in Zakopane. He also studied at the Higher School of Art in Tarnów and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He emigrated to Canada, where he won the wood sculpture competition at the Canadian National Exhibition in 1960. He was also a member of the Society of Sculptors of Canada. He died on 12 October 2002 in Toronto.
