Biography:

Ernest Malinowski (1818-1899), Polish road and railway engineer. He built railways in Peru and Ecuador, designed the Central Transandine Railway, and was a correspondent member of the Society of the Polish National Museum in Rapperswil from 1890. A hero of the defence of Callao in 1866, he was also involved in bringing about Peruvian monetary reform. He was awarded a diploma, medal and honorary citizenship of Peru for his services.
