Chapel of St Thomas Aquinas at St Catherine's Academy

The chapel was built by architect Jerzy Szeptycki in 1956-1958 in modernist style. The building is rectangular in plan, steel structure infilled with bricks and stained glass walls, arcades on steel columns, obscured by openwork cement panels; free-standing belfry plastered white and decorated with mosaics. The Chapel of St Thomas Aquinas is located in the grounds of St Catherine's Academy; a Catholic boarding school for boys. It is decorated by artist John Henry de Rosen and is dedicated to the memory of Captain William Maguire, a cadet chaplain in the 1950s.
