Biography:

Carolo Spampani (1750-1785), born in Rome, probably studied at the Academy of St Lazarus. In 1770 he arrived in Vilnius, taught at the Vilnius Academy there and worked for the Jesuit order. He was one of the first and best architects of early classicism in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In addition to designing buildings, he was also involved in interior design, decoration and park layouts. He died unexpectedly on 2 March 1785.
