Biography:

Italian painter and draughtsman of the Mannerist period, he was born and died in Siena. From 1585-95 he was active in Rome, where he executed, among other things, commissions from the popes. On his return to Siena, he made decorations for the Brotherhood of the Holy Trinity. As a fresco painter, he received commissions from many Italian cities (Assisi, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Genoa). He also painted paintings on secular subjects. He was influenced by Federico Barocci.
