Tombstone of the Zelkowa family

Karviná | Czech Republic

The burial site marked by a cross on a stele and a two-stage plinth, in front of which are three slabs (the central one slightly bulging), placed on a base. To the left a low cuboid serving as a base for a lantern. Cross with arms ending in a stylised trillium, on a plinth. At the intersection of the arms a ceramic medallion with a relief carved head of Christ wearing a crown of thorns. The stele with a protuberance in the middle, on the front filled with a panel with a moulded frame ending on the top with a pair of semicircular arches. In its finial there is an empty space left by a non preserved oval photograph and an inscription engraved with letters filled in with black paint (1). Cd. of the inscription on the first step of the plinth (2). In the 2nd half of the 20th century another panel was added with an inscription at the head of the horizontal panel on the right.
