Biography:

Tadeusz Władysław Sawicz (1914-2011); pilot, was the last surviving Polish participant in the Battle of Britain and the last surviving soldier of the Pursuit Brigade, which defended Warsaw during the September campaign. By order of the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, on 3 May 2006, he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general. He died in Toronto. He was buried at the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw.
