The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Przydruisk was built in the second half of the 18th century thanks to the foundation of the Vilnius Canon Karol Karp. It is believed to have been designed by the architect Antonio Paracco.

The work was completed in 2023.

One of the historic elements of the church is a wooden openwork partition separating the presbytery from the nave. The structure consists of a balustrade with a gate in the middle and 24 balusters.

The balustrade, as part of the church's utility equipment, has been subject to specific damage and transformation over the years. The wooden balusters, especially those located in the movable gate, were exposed to numerous mechanical injuries, bruises and abrasions. Therefore, the balustrade elements were restored at least several times with successive layers of smooth paintings.

During the restoration work, the uniform stylistic character of the colouring of the balustrade shelf and the balusters themselves was restored. The defects and cracks in the wood were consolidated and filled in, and the fittings and hinges were mechanically cleaned and protected.
