Biography:

Maria Lednicka-Szczytt (1893-1947), Polish sculptor. She began her studies with Bourdelle in 1913, interrupted by the First World War. She continued her studies in Moscow and returned to Paris in 1919. She took part in the organisation of the exhibition La Jeune Pologne at the Musée Crillon in 1922. In 1924 she moved to Italy, where she took part in numerous exhibitions. In 1933 she moved to Noe York, where she committed suicide in 1947. Her works include: Black Angel, St Francis and Portrait of Orvieta Borromeo.
