Stefan Norblin, born Juliusz Stefan Norblin de la Gourdaine (1892-1952), Polish painter, illustrator, poster designer, interior, architectural and fashion designer. He fought in the Polish-Soviet War in 1920. In 1939, he left for Romania, from where he would make his way to the United States via Asia. He resided in Persia and India, where he decorated the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur with his paintings. After the war, he settled in the USA, earning money as a portrait painter. In 1952, he committed suicide
