Information about the object:
The stained glass window was designed by Teodor Axentowicz in 1895 and is distinguished by its size and rich colours. The stained-glass window "Our Lady Queen of Angels" is dedicated to Our Lady Patroness of the Cathedral and the Lviv Archdiocese. It is the largest stained glass window in the cathedral, measuring 14 m x 3 m. The upper part of the stained glass window is in the shape of a rosette with a cross inscribed in the centre. In the centre of the cross is the monogram of the Virgin Mary, and in its arms are the heads of angels with purple wings. The central part of the stained glass window is occupied by the figure of Mary dressed in a blue mantle, surrounded by angels and saints. The feet of the Mother of God touch the crescent moon, with angels kneeling beside her holding a crown (on the left) and a sceptre (on the right). Below is the figure of an angel in a green mantle holding a ribbon with an inscription. The lower part of the stained glass is formed by the coats of arms of Poland and Lithuania framed in Gothic ornaments.

2020 (stage III)
The task was a continuation of restoration work, started in 2018, on the stained glass window "Our Lady Queen of Angels" located in the window of the music choir of the Metropolitan Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lviv.

The current phase included the comprehensive conservation of 30% of the stained glass window and the fabrication and installation of the internal metal fittings for the entire stained glass window.

2021 (stage IV)
The objective of the task was to continue conservation work on the stained glass window "Our Lady Queen of Angels", which was designed in 1895 by Teodor Axentowicz and is located in the window of the music choir of the Metropolitan Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lviv. Due to the size of the stained glass (66 fields), the conservation work was planned over several seasons and has been ongoing continuously since 2018.

As part of the fourth stage of activities, a comprehensive conservation of 20% of the stained glass was carried out, consisting in the restoration of its proper technical parameters and aesthetic qualities. This was done by cleaning the individual fields of the stained glass from loose sediment, making field impressions; leading the stained glass quarters; cleaning the individual panes of glass, washing and rinsing; removing resins and other remnants of adhesives made during previous works; glazing all the panes; retouching the paintwork (scoring) and firing; fabrication of missing elements; replacement of unsuitable restorations; bonding of cracks in the glass; assembling the restored glass into a new lead profile corresponding in width to the original; soldering of the profile with LC 60 tin; puttying of the quarters with liquid putty and chipping.
