Information about the object:
The wall paintings in the canopy of the dome were made by the Polish painter and stained-glass artist Antoni Tuch (1863. The composition refers to the early Christian mosaics in Ravenna from the 6th century. It depicts Christ surrounded by angels and lambs, symbolising souls striving for salvation.

Completed works:
The task consisted of carrying out conservation and restoration work on the wall painting located in the dome in the western part of the nave by Antoni Tuch.

The basic conservation assumptions were: conservation intervention in the structure of the object aimed at stopping the processes of destruction, as well as the structural integration of the ground and polychrome layers, the development of the ground surface and the execution of a full integration retouch with the reconstruction of selected fragments. The overall concept was to carry out a full spectrum of conservation and restoration activities, after the completion of which the aesthetic qualities were fully restored (in the area immediately after the entrance to the Temple). The task was a continuation of the work carried out by the Association since 2008 at the Armenian Cathedral.
