Information about the object:
The church in Stary Sambor was built in 1890 by the architect Jablonski from Przemyśl. Its construction was financed exclusively by contributions from parishioners. Finishing work on the church continued until 1903, when the temple was consecrated. The final stage of work was the painting of the interior in 1913 by Leonard Winterowski of Lviv. Two foundation stained glass windows were installed in the chancel windows. During the First World War the church was damaged; it was hit by 5 shells, one of which pierced the vault and fell into the nave. After the Second World War, the church was closed by the Soviets and a factory hall and warehouse were set up inside. The altars were transferred to the church in Mościski.

Completed works:
The task concerns carrying out the first stage of renovation above the nave of the church. The work will be carried out on the basis of a project carried out in 2022 with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. They will include: removal and storage of the old roof tiles, dismantling the battens, reinforcing the rafter framing with the replacement of decayed elements, impregnating the timber, laying the boarding and a double layer of roofing felt. The installation of roof tiles reproduced on the model of the original ones (rhombus motif-decorated Marseille, engobed) is to take place in the next stage of the work.

Funding: Programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage "Protection of Cultural Heritage Abroad".
