Corpus Christi Church in Guty

The history of the Corpus Christi Church in Guty (Bohemia) dates back to around 1563, when it was built by local evangelicals. The church was built of wood and had the characteristic features of medieval churches made of this material. Maintained in the Gothic-Renaissance style, the single-nave church was built using a log structure with thick beams. It was one of the oldest wooden churches in Zaolzie. It was handed over to Catholic priests in 1653. The cemetery, which is located around the building, served both Catholics and Evangelicals until 1882.

Between 2011 and 2012, the church was revitalised. In 2017, the church was set on fire, leading to the complete destruction of the building. In 2020, reconstruction began. Today, the Corpus Christi Church in Guty is an exact replica of the destroyed church.
