In the Italian town of Ancona, located in the central east of the country, there is a monument commemorating the liberation of this town by Polish soldiers of the Carpathian Lancers Regiment on 18 July 1944. The monument consists of a plaque placed on a triple pedestal. It bears the badge of the regiment and an inscription in Polish and Italian.
