Polish settlement in Penrhos

There had been an air base at Penrhos since 1937. After the end of the Second World War, the Polish Resettlement Corps set up a Polish resettlement camp for Poles on the base. In 1948, a settlement was established to house the elderly and those unable to live independently. The initiative was supported by many Polish organisations operating in the UK. A Polish church was also built there. In 2023, the care home was decommissioned and the site purchased by a construction company.
