Adam Mickiewicz Memorial Plaque in Kaunas

Adam Mickiewicz worked at the Kaunas County School from 1819 to 1823. It was his first job right after graduating from Vilnius University. This fact was commemorated by a plaque on the façade of the building of the poet's then residence in Kaunas Old Town. An inscription in Lithuanian underneath, already in Polish, quotes from "Pan Tadeusz".
