Graves of Polish soldiers killed in the Polish-Ukrainian War 1918-1919

In the Sniatyn cemetery, in the right rear part of the necropolis, 16 Polish defenders of Lviv who died in the Polish-Ukrainian war of 1918-1919 are buried. They were young men who, as Ukrainian prisoners of war, died from wounds in the hospital in Sniatyn.

The grave in which they rest is a sizable low stone sarcophagus with a large vertical inscription plate. On either side of it are low walls, bounded by massive pillars (each with two niches). The inscription reads: "To the fighters for the independence of Poland 1918".

The restoration of the grave was carried out in 2014 by the Council for the Protection of Struggle and Martyrdom Remembrance.
