Commemoration of John Paul II's visit to Erice

In the town of Erice (Sicily), on the façade of a temple, are the words of John Paul II, which he spoke on 8 May 1993. This was one of the Pope's many journeys in Sicily, where he made a pilgrimage to appeal for an end to organised crime, which in Italy in particular was claiming many human lives. The inscription is in Italian, with a contemporary bas-relief depicting Jesus Christ below it.
