The monument to Fryderyk Chopin in Vienna, entitled 'La note bleue', refers to the metaphorical 'blue note' that Fryderyk Chopin's partner, George Sand, perceived in his music. The author of the monument is the sculptor Krzysztof M. Bednarski, whose design won the competition organised by the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute. The monument was unveiled in the Schweizergarten park in 2010 to mark the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth.
