It was a Polish village with about 70 homesteads. Ukrainian nationalists used provocations to liquidate this village during the Second World War, attracting German repression to the village. Due to the actions of the Soviet partisans, which the Poles were accused of, on 16.12.1942, Ukrainian police units under the command of the Germans pacified the village, killing several hundred inhabitants.

The bodies of the victims were buried immediately after the execution in a common grave. The surviving inhabitants erected a cross on the grave in 1944, which survived until October 1964, when the local Ukrainian authorities erected a typical Soviet obelisk in the shape of a spur, with an inscription commemorating "the crime of the German SS men and the Ukrainian police in the Nazi service, committed against innocent and defenceless inhabitants of the Polish village". Currently, this grave is crowned by a 3-metre high cross, to which a wooden plaque with a Ukrainian inscription (now illegible) has been attached. At the foot of the cross is a black stone plaque with a Ukrainian inscription: "Here the German fascists shot on 16 December 1942 / 365 inhabitants of the village of Ozierce / Eternal memory". The site is fenced with a metal fence, painted light blue. The area around the grave is well maintained.

In addition, there is a grave in the village of a family of 8, murdered during the above-mentioned pacification. It was discovered accidentally by the current owner of the property where the house where the murder took place stood. The grave has been fenced off, but no cross stands on it.

At the exit from the village, just off the road, in the forest, there is another grave of a World War II victim. It is the grave of a 19-year-old girl, murdered in 1944. On the fenced grave stands a blue wooden cross with a plaque.
