Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918) - writer, poet, atistic and literary critic, with Polish roots, whose genealogy the poet Anatol Stern dedicated his book "Apollinaire's House. A thing about Polishness and the poet's family", active in Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany and France. One of the most important representatives of 20th century French poetry, working in a variety of styles and genres. His most important works include: "The Murdered Poet", "Alcohols" and "Caligrams". Representative and promoter of the avant-garde, especially Cubism, creator of the term 'Surrealism'. Finally a soldier, an officer of the Foreign Legion, he fought on the French side in the First World War.
